emergency relief fund for teaching artists
Want to help? Show your support for our Teaching Artists!
Our incredible network of teaching artists needs our support, now more than ever.
Young Audiences of Houston has been proud to support local artists, promote teaching artistry as a career path, and provide outstanding, diverse programs to students across Houston and the state for 64 years. Today, we are in an unprecedented position like many others, facing over 432 program cancellations for the school year.
Young Audiences Teaching Artists are essential to our mission, our students, and our city. They drive innovation, support creativity, create new art, foster meaningful relationships with students, and directly impact the lives of over 220,000 children each year through Young Audiences of Houston's expansive network.
Young Audiences has the privilege of fostering an arts education ecosystem of mutually supportive educators, artists, and advocates, and we are now called upon to continue showing our support for one another during the uncertainty ahead. To this end, we have created an Emergency Relief Fund for Teaching Artists to develop new online content and lesson plans. 100% of funds raised will go directly to YAH Teaching Artists for their services as we adapt to online and distance learning, so we can continue our mission of supporting area youth through arts-integration programs.
Our current fundraising goal is $50,000 to support our teaching artists with our board dedicating $26,000 to kick off our campaign.
Please consider contributing to the Emergency Relief Fund for Teaching Artists, to keep Houston's vibrant arts community uplifted.
