COME & EXPLORE SUMMER CAMP - HIGH SCHOOL MENTOR
Join Young Audiences of Houston this summer as a High School Mentor for our Come and Explore Summer Camp, helping introduce youth across Houston to a unique experience combining dance, music, theatre, and visual/new media arts in an effort to combat summer learning loss in our schools.
High School Mentors will gain valuable leadership skills and experience in working alongside master teaching artists from Young Audiences of Houston and campus educators from each of the program sites. As a High School Mentor, you will have a direct hand in every aspect of the camp – developing your skills through supporting instruction, leading aspects of small group instruction, managing day to day operations, engaging youth in creative activities, and executing a final culminating event for participating youth, families, and community partners.
Applications are due April 22

The Young Audiences of Houston Education Committee guides the organization concerning programming in the schools and the evaluation of artists for the roster, as well as assisting with our community outreach efforts including the Family Arts Festival every fall, the Houston Arts Partners Conference every fall, and other public events.
The committee meets monthly during the school year and is composed of current or retired educators, parents, administrators, and community arts supporters.
Please join us to see how you can make a difference for others!

Volunteers are a critical component to Young Audiences of Houston and each year we engage more than 147 individuals through board, committee and volunteer service to further the mission and vision.
Through our vast regional partnerships we serve schools, hospitals, libraries, juvenile detention centers, and community centers. We invite individuals to volunteer, to join us in adopting the core philosophy of every child—meaning that we believe that every child should have access to the arts and access to creative learning to become well-rounded citizens.
Volunteer opportunities include serving on committees, community outreach, administrative support, program observations, and more.
