after school programs
Young Audiences of Houston After-School Programs are highly participatory and are uniquely designed to reinforce core curriculum classroom instruction, provide positive role models, enhance student self esteem, foster relevant skills in dynamic and creative problem solving and critical thinking, awaken interest in learning, and broaden a student's understanding of world art and culture.
Americans for the Arts recognizes that students who engage in rigorous arts programs are four times more likely to excel academically. All Young Audiences of Houston programs are aligned to the mandated Texas State curricula and testing standards. The arts give students motivational tools to unlock deeper understanding of core concepts and ideas through interactive hands-on learning. The After School Programs are tailored to each school, student population and their needs through dedicated staff support provided by Young Audiences of Houston throughout the program.
