Workshops: Hands-on workshops bring together individual artists to encourage students to actively discover their own artistic potential. Ideal for after school, library, or community center programs. Most workshops are product based.

-
Residencies: Offer experiences implemented by a specialized teaching artist. Residencies are multiple, participatory workshops and require a minimum of 3 sequential sessions per student group, and can be expanded into semester-long projects. Residencies take place in partnership with the classroom teacher and either focus on arts-integration or the artistic process.

DANCE!! The Moving Body
WORKSHOP AND RESIDENCY
Alonzo Moore
A dance focused program suitable for Pre-K-5th grade with the flexibility of being adapted for upper grade levels. I will pull from Physics, Anatomy and Basic Movement fundamentals. Students will learn about the Human body its structure and functions. They will be able to identify major bones, joints and muscles. Once we complete the Anatomy segment we'll move into the Physics segment where we learn about the physics of the body in motion where we learn about the physics of basic motor and nonlocomotor skills and how they relate to everyday use. At the completion of that unit we'll then move into creative movement composition and the crafting of dance. In this unit students will use basic (dance) movement fundamentals to bring story and play to the space using the B.E.S.T concepts. All three units can be done all together over the course of the school year or broken up to run at any desired length. A longer residency is ideal as each unit builds on the other. The project will have an over arching focus on the empowerment of students abilities to hone in on the skills of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision making. The idea is that with further development these three units can work together in/at a STEM or STEAM campus since it will be combining a science and an art.
